THE SPIRIT OF THE NORTH
People who have encountered the loon in its northern home, love this wonderful bird. This bird, the oldest of all living bird species, a survivor, a bird of our times, is a gentle yet mysterious bird with a sense of humor as we watch it dance on the water. It is aggressive and subtle in behavior, intuitive--many Norwegians believed the loon could predict the weather and guide fishermen.
